Caiyuanba Yangtze River Bridge is the most important infrastructure construction project in Chongqing. It connects two bustling commercial centers, with six lanes and two sidewalks on the upper deck and a double light rail on the lower deck. The main bridge is a steel - concrete composite tie - arch bridge with a main span of 420 meters.
Three important technologies have been successfully integrated into the bridge, and the following three technologies have been innovatively adopted in the design: combination technology (combination of materials/combination of structural system/combination of orthotropic bridge deck and steel truss); Large section technology of rail-rail bridge; Active control technology.
Dr. Sun Junling personally participated in the project and served as the chief engineer of project design.
